FLO Air Gauge Info

The FLO Air Gauge is a modular air gauge that connects with any pump and allows you to set an extremely accurate tire pressure. The FLO Air Gauge has a 1% span accuracy and 120psi span which guarantees to deliver +/- 1.2psi of your target pressure.

The compact design of the FLO Air Gauge packs well for travel so you can leave the floor pump at home and give your mini pump an accurate gage or even use that shotty transition pump with confidence at your next race.

The FLO Air Gauge ships with the FLO Locking Chuck for easy pump-to-valve connection. Check out our tire pressure recommendations for your ideal pressure with the FLO Air Gauge.

Why We Made This:
For every 1 psi you over-inflate your tires, you lose 1 watt to rolling resistance. Most pumps are +/- 9psi, so setting an accurate pressure is nearly impossible. The FLO Air Gauge allows you to set accurate tire pressure with a floor pump or mini pump, at home, or on the go, so your watts are used to move you forward and you can be faster.

Getting Started

To learn how to use your FLO Air Gauge please watch the video below.

Maintenance

Check the FLO Air Gauge for leaks every 6 months.

    Gage Removal or Tightening

In the event you would like to remove the FLO Air Gauge from the brass tee please ensure you do not turn the gage while holding it. This can damage the gage. Please use a wrench on the connection to remove it from the brass tee.

Optimize your tire pressure for your weight, riding surface, tire casing width, and internal rim width by using the tire pressure recommendation table below. The pressures listed are starting recommendations. We suggest experimenting with your tire pressure to find what is the fastest for you and the roads you ride. Remember, being slightly lower is better than being slightly higher.

Follow these steps to use the table:

    • Weigh yourself and your bike together.
    • Find your wheel model.
    • Determine your riding surface. This will be a pavement or gravel variant.
    • Measure the width of your inflated tire on your rim.
    • Find your tire width under your road surface type.
    • Match your riding surface and tire width to your bike and rider weight.
    • Use this pressure (psi) and enjoy your ride!

How To Use FLO Air Gauge

    Listen and learn

Introducing the FLO Air Gage - Set Accurate Tire Pressures

    Watt Points = 9

Learn all about the FLO Air Gage and how years of research and a key frustration led to it's design and release. Learn all about pumps, gages, and the importance of setting accurate tire pressures to optiimize your speed. When your tire pressure is too high, you lose 1 watt for every 1 psi of over inflation. Finally, find your best tire pressure and how to set it with the FLO Air Gage.

All About Rolling Resistance, Impedance, & More

    Watt Points = 50-100

Everything you need to know about rolling resistance. We describe, how to imporve it, tire selection & sizing, why FLO wheels have been optimized for rolling resistance, pressure management, and more. We also discuss how FLO has studied and contributed to rolling resistance and some of the things we are working on here to learn more.

    Tire Pressure Impedance

The graph below shows the coefficient of rolling resistance (Crr) value for different tire pressures. While Crr decreases slowly as tire pressure increases up to the impedance break point, Crr increases rapidly after the impedance break point. The effect is asymetric. For every 1 psi you are over the impedance break point you lose 1 watt to rolling resistance. Standard floor pumps can have an accuracy of +/- 9 psi casuing up to 9 watts and minutes at your next Ironman or century.
