bostonalex,

Our spoke holes are 8.5mm +/- 0.2mm. I'd go for the 8.5mm version.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Take care,

Velo plugs fixed my rear wheel flat issues 4 rides so far all good! I ran a single long strip of electrical tape over the plugs to make sure they stayed put also seems to have done the trick. When I removed the rim tape you can see impressions of only 3/4 of some spoke holes!

I'm intrigued with the idea of installing Veloplugs in my Flo 30s. Would very much like to hear about any and all experiences (good and bad) with them.

I'm so glad to see this discussion, I've been wondering if I have a set of malfunction wheels.

Few months ago, I bought a pair Flo30, I was so excited, put on new Conti 4000S tires and tubes, and went for a ride, in a middle of the ride, got flat, replaced tube and got home. When got home, flat again, replaced new tube, checked for cuts, thorns...etc, checked to be sure the tube installed correctly, put some air. Next day, got flat again, before riding... Frustrated, took the wheels off and put them in the garage.

Put back the Boyd wheels with the same tires and tubes from the Flo30 wheels, went on riding for the last few months, not a problem.

Then last few weeks, took Flo30 wheels to a shop.
Yup, it was the rim tape, too narrow, and moved off the side when the tube gets air...etc.

I bought the Zipp rim tape that made for Zipp 101 (wide rim), and the problem solved (another suggestion from the bike shop is to use a tape that has some glue underneath would work). I've also been riding with 25mm-tire, seem works very well.

Glad to see these posts. I have put in 3 tubes in my back tire on the Flo 60 and they flat out. I don't know what Veloplugs are but maybe my bike shop will know or using a thicker rim tape or rim tape with adhesive. This is crazy! I've been to the bike shop twice for this and they can't find anything wrong with the tube, the tire or the wheel. Didn't you all provide the rim tape and if so, shouldn't you provide wider tape for just this problem?

Thanks.

Have this issue been corrected? I noticed that the posts go all the way back to 2013, it seems obvious that there's something wrong with the tape provided.
