Rim bed spoke holes

Postby f.jimenez » June 21st, 2017, 1:50 am

Dear awesome Flo founders

I've been on the fence about carbon wheels for what seems like ages, but as of now I'm seriously leaning towards a pair of Flo 45s.

However, I have also decided that I'm going tubeless to kiss punctures goodbye. The industry as a whole also seems to be moving in this direction, and I would really like a wheel that doesn't have spoke holes in the rim bed. Having those drilled and then having to use special rim tape to cover them seems a bit like an unnecessary kludge.

I fully appreciate that lacing a rim without drilled through spoke holes would be more challenging (= more cost in build), but I don't know what that would translate to in terms of $$$

Do you have plans to introduce wheels without spoke holes on the rim bed? at the very least, would it be possible when buying rims only? I could then have the wheels built on my side

Cheers

Hi Chris

Thanks for considering at least the option on rims only. If you do manage it (assuming same price), you can put me down for a pair of all carbon 45mm rims

Look forward to hearing news about this

Cheers

Hi Chris

Sorry, I haven't checked in in a few days. Standard 20 & 24 would do me fine (68 kg rider + bike)

Cheers

Hi Chris

Sorry, I didn't get an email to tell me there was a message. And looks like the system doesn't let me reply. I'm on vacation right now but will try to get in touch with you next week

Cheers
