Removal of bearings?

Postby CrossCombo » September 28th, 2014, 10:26 am

Hello guys,

First of all I just want to say that I’m really happy with the wheels I bought in May 

But unfortunately I have a problem with the rear hub, or the bearings I presume. At today’s ride I notices some noise from the rear wheel and after removing the hub I could feel that the wheel didn’t spin as smooth at it used to do. I guess that the bearings are busted… (maybe a little early than I would expect from ceramic bearings)

I search your forum how to remove the bearings but I came up empty. Do you have a tutorial somewhere?

To my questions:

Is it possible for me to do a service on the bearings instead of buying new ones?
If buying new, do you provide with that or can you recommend a shop (preferable in Europe that have the bearings requested)?

Thank you and keep up the good work guys!

Hi,

I would like to know the procedure to replace bearings of rear hub as well.
update: this might help: http://flocycling.blogspot.nl/2011/07/flo-cycling-component-series-part-2-flo.html. before finding this link i have already had a go at tapping the axle with a plastic hammer, but with no effect. i will have another go at disassembly.

Thanks in advance!
Regards,

The noises you are hearing are likely from a need of lubrication in the freehub. Check out this video for a tutorial.

You will need some special bearing tools for removing press fit bearings. You local bike shop will likely be your best bet if you do in fact need to remove the bearings.

Our bearings need to be replaced if they wear out. My first recommendation is to try the free hub maintenance shown in the video above.

We sell new bearings. If you need them please let me know.

Thank you and keep up the good work guys!

You are very welcome. Thanks for the support.
