Indoor trainers for Tri Bikes

Postby SDtriracer » October 16th, 2013, 8:46 am

I'm looking for some advice on indoor cycle trainers that are stable enough for riding in the aero position. I normally do alot of outdoor training, but between work, school and the days getting shorter (yes, even in San Diego!) there isn't enough hours in the day to get the training in I need/want. Anyone have experience with these indoor trainers? I use a roller for my road bike, but I'm looking for something I can train with when I'm on the aero bars. I'm sure you mid-west or snow people (whats snow???) have some experience with this. Thanks.

I figure any of them will work, but I've been reading that some have vibration issues or heat issues as the resistance/effort increases. I've seen a ton of good reviews for Kinectic so I'm probably going to make that investment. Which model do you train with?

I've had the 1UpUSA trainer for years. It's great and I have no problems getting in the aerobars. It also has a lifetime warranty which I have used without any hassle.

You can check it out here... http://www.1upusa.com/product-trainer.html

Sorry, a little late to the party. I've been using a Tacx trainer for years without any issues. I'm not even using a dedicated Trainer tire - just my regular Conti Gatorskin. No vibrations and very quiet, too.
