Are you checking pressure with the pump gauge while inflating the tire OR are you measuring pressure after inflation with a separate gauge?

Trying to use the pump gauge while inflating. Also I was able put on the GP4000s without tools by giving the tires a little stretch before trying to put them on.

If the extender is installed properly then you should be able to read the gauge as you are pumping. Is any air going into the tire at all? Or are you not able to pump up the tire?

Chris,

Would a 48mm SRAM valve extension work with this latex tube on a Flo 60? http://www.probikekit.com/us/tyres-tubes/inner-tubes/michelin-aircomp-latex-road-short-valve-inner-tube-700-x-22-23mm.html

The description says: Valve core: Not removable.

I am planning to run latex race tubes so I'm looking for options on those.

I'm able to inflate but the gauge will not provide a reading, it goes up momentarily while pumping but then returns to zero.
I'll give it a go with RVC tubes and the internal extension to see what happens. Do you think if I used teflon tape on the external it would make a difference?

You are not using teflon tape? If not that is your problem. In order to get an accurate pressure reading you need to have an air tight system. If the connection between your valve and your extender does not have teflon tape, the pressure in the extender (what your pump would be reading) will register and then quickly drop as the air leaks out of the connection between the extender and the tube. If you apply teflon tape properly you should get a good reading on your pump valve. Have you seen our video on how to install valve extenders?

If not I suggest you watch it. You can find it here...

Let me know if that works. Any extender, internal or external needs an air tight connection. That is why teflon tape is recommended.

Take care,

Yes it should... the SRAM extenders I recommended are the external type and "removable valve cores' are not required. With a 48mm SRAM extender you'll likely want to get the 42mm valve option on the tubes.

I hope that helps.

What valve length would your recommend to fit the Flo 90 front and rear disc combo? I am only looking to carry one tube size for the two wheels.

cvette4,

I'd still recommend the 52mm tubes I mentioned above for the FLO DISC. A 48mm tube is likely more common and that will be perfect as well.

hey Cyberjunkie21: i have a few sets of the Pro4 Service Course tires as well. Wondered how they would fit on my FLO 90-rear. Do they spread out beyond the width of the wheel at all? I need as narrow as I can get to properly fit my Cervelo P3C.
