I would really like to see a photo where the rims show some more signs of use. Its a little suggestive, or do triatlethes dont use their brakes ;)

brakes? If I am lucking only need brakes once during the race, on the way into T2!

Nope, it's not a UFO...but my Orbea Ordu, with a FLO Disc and FLO 90, ready for some serious action!

It really depends on a few factors. The type of brake pads, the weather conditions etc. I've put a few pictures below. The first picture is from my wheelset that has seen many miles and you can hardly notice any wear. The second picture is from a friends bike who rides in some wetter conditions. The wear is more noticeable.
