Had a nice long ride on Sunday (freakishly nice weather for January in Indiana)
and got to enjoy a bunch of changes/updates/improvements to my bike.
1) new fit from 51 speed shop
2) new shorter crank arms (as prescribed by #1)
3) NEW FLO WHEELS

I got a ton of new PRs on my Garmin - best 20m power, best 40k among them
Not sure how much of that to attribute to the wheels and how much to the fit.

But one thing is for certain: I feel vastly more secure on these wheels over bad surfaces or when cornering hard.
I've been riding on Conti GP4ks2 25mm for a long time, but they act very different - much more grippy through corners and over bumps - when they're on these wider rims. A much smoother, more comfortable, and more confidence-inspiring ride. Let me stay in my aero bars in situations I ordinarily would have sat up or even braked, I could just keep pedalling on through.

I am very, very pleased indeed.

Edited to add:
I did encounter some crosswinds, including situations where I was intermittently sheltered and exposed. No problem. Very stable and confidence-inspiring.

Nice picture!
How do you get your bike to stand up for a pic like that?

There was a railroad spike lying on the ground so I propped it up under my pedal then took the pic really quick before it could fall!

There's no such thing as going overboard with upgrades, especially with all the money I saved with my clever choice of wheels :)

This is my ride for long distance triathlons.

This is my ride for the Escape From Alcatraz course.
