Recommended brake pads

Postby snail_male » March 8th, 2012, 7:00 am

In order to "baby" the anodized tracks in the best possible way, anyone have thoughts on the best choice of pads to use? At first I thought the softest compound, but maybe that would be prone to holding particles that could scrape away at the finish?! I realize it's a best guess at this point...

We've just been using standard brake pad from SRAM and Shimano. I thinks it's best to stay with the standard pads. Anything to soft may cause problems.

Based on the recommendation to stick with Shimano/Sram pads - Do you recomend putting on new brake pads when you get the wheel...?? Or can I just put the wheel on and go?

thanks!

Ann,

Assuming your existing brake pads are not worn out, you will not need to buy new pads. You can just put your wheels on and go!

Take care,

What brake pads do you recommend for the Carbon Rimmed wheels?
If you have no particular recommendation, would SwissStop Black Prince pads be ok with you?

TIA!

None of the Flo wheels are carbon rims, they are an aluminum rim with a carbon fairing. The brake track is aluminum and as such uses standard brake pads.
