What year are my wheels?

Postby 5733k » September 13th, 2017, 2:28 pm

Hi i purchased a used rear disc which is for a 10 speed cassette and i am trying to find out whether i can change the freehub to an 11 speed version. Is there a way to tell what year my wheel was made, and therefore whether i can convert it to 11 speed.

Many thanks for your help.

Could you take a close-up picture of the freehub and where it connects to the carbon fiber? I want to see the collar that holds the carbon fiber to the wheel. If you can post that here, I will be able to tell you if your disc has the ability to be upgraded.

Take care,

It appears you will be able to upgrade to an 11 speed freehub. You'll need the 2012-2015 Shimano/SRAM 11 Speed freehub found on this page: http://www.flocycling.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=133
